The premium shown in GoalsMapper is intended for financial planning and projection purposes. In some cases, it may differ from the premium stated in the client’s insurer notice, policy document or CPF records.
This may happen for several reasons:
1. Different age calculation methods
GoalsMapper calculates insurance premiums using the client’s age last birthday, which is the age convention used consistently across other insurance plans within the platform.
However, MediShield Life, Integrated Shield Plans and riders may calculate premiums using age next birthday. This difference can cause the premium shown in GoalsMapper to fall under a different age band from the premium charged by the insurer.
2. Subsidies, rewards and discounts are not included
GoalsMapper uses the standard published premiums provided by the respective insurers.
The amount shown does not include client-specific subsidies, rebates, rewards or discounts, such as:
- Government subsidies
- Healthier SG or Healthy 365-related benefits
- Insurer wellness programme discounts
- Promotional or campaign discounts
- Other policyholder-specific adjustments
As these benefits may vary between clients and over time, they are not automatically reflected in the standard premium used by GoalsMapper.
3. Older plans or riders may no longer have published premiums
For older plans or riders that are no longer available for sale, insurers may stop publishing their latest premium tables.
When updated pricing is not publicly available, GoalsMapper may not be able to maintain the current premium for these discontinued products. In such cases, the premium shown should be treated as an estimate and updated manually based on the client’s latest premium notice.
4. The insurer may have recently revised its premiums
Insurers may revise their premiums at different times throughout the year, and some products may be updated more than once a year.
GoalsMapper aims to update premium tables as soon as reasonably possible after new pricing is released. However, there may occasionally be a short delay between the insurer’s announcement and the update being reflected in GoalsMapper.
What should I do if the premium is different?
For the most accurate planning result, refer to the client’s latest insurer premium notice, policy statement or CPF transaction record.
