It depends on where you live (your domicile) and the laws of the country where your assets are located.
If you are Singapore-based:
- Your GM Legacy Will can usually cover all your movable assets worldwide (such as cash, investments, and bank accounts).
- For property (real estate) overseas, local laws always apply:
- In Malaysia, it’s usually straightforward to reseal a Singapore probate so your Will can be used there. However, laws of the land is still applicable when dealing with immovable property.
- In China, the process is trickier because the legal system is different. While you may still use your Singapore Will, it’s best to have a China-based lawyer review your draft Will so it meets Chinese legal formalities and avoids problems later.
If you are not Singaporean (e.g., a China national):
- We don’t recommend using a Singapore-format “worldwide Will” (including GM Legacy) for your China assets.
- China has strict rules about how Wills must be written and executed, so it’s best to work with a lawyer in China to ensure your Will is valid.

Selecting the correct jurisdiction will help to minimise disputes or contest over your estate.
The following revocation clauses will appear in your Will, depending on the option you select:
